The Berkey Light is designed for everyday use but is ideal in emergency situations where a reliable supply of  drinking water becomes unavailable.

This system is constructed of transparent Lexan, making it hygienic, durable, and easy to clean and refill. The upper chamber of the two piece housing is filled with water which is gravity fed through the filters into the lower chamber.

The 2 included filter elements have micro-pores so small that harmful pathogenic bacteria cannot pass through them. The filters also remove and reduce unwanted chemicals such as chlorine, lead, rust, sediment, pesticides, herbicides, foul tastes and odors. The pair of included durable and efficient Black Berkey elements are rated for up to 6,000 gallons and can be cleaned as needed with a toothbrush.

Awesome water but slow to filter. January 17, 2012

I love the way the filtered water taste we have really nasty water here it taste like your drinking it from a swimming pool. It was easy to set up, the customer service was amazing. Shipping was free and the item was shipped same day and only took three buisness days to get here. The only thing I  will say is with the two standard filters it comes with the water filters very very very slowly. If you can afford it I would get to extra filters when you purchase it to help speed up your water. However for me it is great to know in an emergency we will have fresh clean water. I will be ordering the two additional filters from here very soon.
