Peppermint Planting Instructions:
Peppermint can be sown indoors before transplanted outside after the danger of frost has passed, or it can be planted as a potted plant. If starting indoors, plant the seeds 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost. After a week or two, seedlings should emerge. Transplant to full sun or partial shade. Because mint breeds can spread out vigorously, they do best in containers or in raised beds. To prepare a bed, turn the soil under to a depth of 8”. Set plants 18” apart. Make sure the weeks are kept under control and the plants get about 1” of water a week.

Peppermint Harvesting Instructions:
Harvest peppermint leaves as needed. Before the plant flowers, cut stems 1” from the ground. After cutting plants back, you may get a second harvest in the same season. Used fresh or dried, peppermint can be used as an ingredient in a healthy and delicious tea. You can also use the leaves to freshen salads and desserts.

Turns out you can't start peppermint from seed.  Everyone I have gone to for advice, every website, permaculturist, etc. has reassured me that you can not do it from seed. It has to be grown from another plant!! Why do seed supply stores sell The seed,  because they can! And it makes them money! Nothing but a scam.

So far so good. September 13, 2016

Just got the order and it's not quite planting season yet. But I'm very excited to plant these. It's only 4 stars because I haven't planted anything yet. I'll be happy to update when I do.
Packaging the seeds come in also look like it's of good quality. My clumsiness will not destroy it like I manage to do with the paper seed packets you find elsewhere. My order arrived in a timely manner and so far, all is well.
