Red Acre Cabbage is known for its vibrant red color. It is delicious raw or cooked and is a great addition to cole slaw. Grow a crop of Organic Red Acre Cabbage using 100% heirloom cabbage seeds from Patriot Seeds. Our seeds are dried and sealed in airtight military-grade Mylar packages. You can store them for 5+ years. Plus, because they are open-pollinated, you can grow, harvest, and replant your cabbage crop for years. Patriot Seeds are non-GMO and certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers. When you're ready to declare your food independence, buy Patriot Seeds!

Organic Cabbage: Red Acre Planting Instructions:

Sow seeds 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost. Plant ¼ to ½" deep, 3 to 4" apart, and in rows 2' apart. When seedlings reach 3" tall, thin to 12" apart. Water the plants thoroughly and apply a light mulch to conserve soil moisture and suppress weeds. If starting indoors to transplant later, sow seeds 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, planting 12" apart in rows 20" apart.

Organic Cabbage: Red Acre Harvesting Instructions:

Harvest the heads of cabbage as soon as they are well-developed, firm, and solid when squeezed. Cut the heads off with a sharp knife and discard the outermost leaves. If cabbages are left in the ground beyond maturity, they are more vulnerable to disease and splitting.

Did You Know This About Red Acre Cabbage?

The Ancient Celts brought Cabbage back from Ireland. The plant's ability to grow in colder climates and yield large crops was considered especially valuable.
