Organic Carrots: Tendersweet (500mg) Description:
Tendersweet Carrots are one of the sweetest carrot varieties available. They also hold their color when cooked, making them a beautiful and delicious addition to roast vegetable dishes. Grow Tendersweet Carrots in your own garden using organic carrot seeds from Patriot Seeds. Our seeds are 100% heirloom, non-hybrid, non-GMO and USDA Certified Organic. They are also open-pollinated, so you can grow, harvest, and replant your carrot crop for years to come. The seeds come packaged in re-sealable, triple-layered, military-grade Mylar, which can be used to store any leftover seeds for 5+ years. When you’re ready to declare your food independence, buy Patriot Seeds!

Organic Carrots: Tendersweet Planting Instructions:
Tendersweet Carrots grow best in full sun, planted ½” deep in rows 12” apart. Sow the seeds directly into the soil after the last frost has passed. Use well-worked, loose soil for best results. Use compost if the soil is too heavy. Cover seeds with ½” of light soil. Firm the soil lightly and keep evenly moist. Once the seedlings grow 2” tall, thin to 2 to 4” apart, depending on the desired carrot size. Keep the area well weeded and consistently watered.

Organic Carrots: Tendersweet Harvesting Instructions:

You can harvest baby carrots when they are big enough to eat. For full grown carrots, harvest when they reach 9 to 10” in length. To store the carrots through the winter, twist off the carrot tops, but do not wash the carrots. Layer them in damp sand or sawdust. In warmer climates, you may leave the carrots in the garden over winter and top them with a thick layer of mulch.

Did You Know This About Carrots?
Carrots were the first vegetable to be canned. In 1810, Englishman Peter Durand was granted a patent for the idea of preserving food in “vessels of tin or other metals or fit materials.”

I enjoy the packaging of the seeds.....the sealed packets indicate an optimum storage until needed. I also like the re-seal capabilities with the ziplock - good for keeping out moisture.
