When you're ready to declare your food independence, buy Patriot Seeds!

Organic Lettuce: Batavian - Arianna Planting Instructions:
Lettuce grows best in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Sow your Arianna Batavian Lettuce seeds in early spring or fall 1/8" below the surface and 8 to 12" apart. Space rows by 12 to 18". Because lettuce is shallow-rooted, it is important to avoid disturbing the soil around the plants when weeding. Keep plants well-watered throughout dry periods. Unless rainfall is regular, you will need to water the plants deeply at least once a week. Mulch with a layer of compost or clean straw to encourage moisture retention.

Organic Lettuce: Batavian - Arianna Harvesting Instructions:
To ensure optimal quality, harvest the lettuce early. If lettuce continues to grow for too long, it becomes bitter and tough. Plan to harvest in the morning or evening when the leaves are crisp, sweet, and full of moisture. Fresh lettuce can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days in a plastic bag or airtight container.

Did You Know This About Arianna Batavian Lettuce?

This breed of lettuce is known for its crunchy texture and nutty flavor. Arianne Batavian Lettuce has extra large leaves for an iceberg lettuce. It's a great variety for using to make lettuce wraps. Give it plenty of space in the garden, though!
