Organic Squash: Summer - Early Prolific Straightneck Planting Instructions:
Summer Squash seeds prefer warm soil and full sun. They are highly sensitive to frost. Plant seeds in fertile soil using an area where squash has not been grown within two years. Sow 1-2 seeds in hills 4-5’ apart and cover with 1" of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 10 to 14 days. Thin to one plant when seedlings have two sets of leaves. Squash plants have a shallow root system. Mulches help maintain soil moisture and temperatures. Keep the soil moist but not saturated. Water well during the growing season.

Organic Squash: Summer - Early Prolific Straightneck Harvesting Instructions:
Summer Early Prolific Straightneck Squash are ready for harvest in 46 to 52 days when fruits are small and the skin is shiny. To keep summer squash producing, pick all fruit at this stage. If fruit is allowed to mature, the plant may stop producing. To pick summer squash, give the fruit a gentle twist until it snaps off. Be sure to harvest often. Store in plastic bags in the refrigerator for up to a week. Male squash blossoms are also delicious and sweet, try dipping them in batter and frying.
