New Zealand Spinach (6g):
New Zealand is not a true spinach, but can be used in just the same way and is more resistant than regular spinach to bolting during the hot summer months! This variety actually thrives in hot weather. Plants are large and hardy, and leaves are small and fleshy. High in vitamin content. Average: 65 days.

Planting Instructions:
Select a site with full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. Sow seeds ½ inch to 1" deep, covering lightly with soil. Sow about 12 seeds per foot of row, or sprinkle over a wide row or bed. Soil should not be warmer than 70º F in order for germination. Successive plantings should be made every couple weeks during early spring. Common spinach cannot grow in midsummer. (For a summer harvest, try New Zealand Spinach or Malabar Spinach, two similar leafy greens.) Plant in mid-August for a fall crop, ensuring that soil temps are cool enough.

Harvesting:
Keep an eye on your plants. Harvest when leaves reach your desired size. Don’t wait too long to harvest, or wait for larger leaves; bitterness will set in quickly after maturity. The whole plant can be harvested at once, and cut at the base, or leaves may be picked off plants one layer at a time, giving inner layers more time to develop.

Saving Seeds:
Wind pollinated. Spinach varieties must be isolated by 1/4 mile to prevent cross pollination by wind. Physical barriers such as tree lines, buildings or woods may make it possible to use a shorter distance. Allow plants to bolt and set seed. Some staking may be necessary as plants may reach 3' in height. When seeds are dry, harvest the entire plant and thresh on a tarp. A 1/2 " screen on top of a 1/4" and 1/8" is helpful for cleaning. Spinach seed remains viable for 3-5 years under cool and dry storage conditions.

Great germination rates September 8, 2016
Reviewer: Jocelyn James from Ocala, FL United States
Seeds are always fresh and have a high germination rate. Even the second year. You cant beat the price and they come in easy resealable foil packets. This is my second time ordering seed from MPS and both times I have been impressed with them.

Speedy Delivery! February 3, 2016
Reviewer: InlandNorthwest from Newman Lake, WA United States
Seeds packed in well-marked, resealable  foil packets. Would have liked more plant description, i.e. height, days til germination, days til harvest, any special needs (afternoon sun protection, etc.) instead of instruction to visit website for more information on packet. Have requested hardcopy catalog for reference.  Still too early to start/direct plant...

Absolutely wonderful: seeds were cheap in comparison to other companies, seeds were packaged in aluminum to prevent moisture and light, each package contained numerous seeds.....now wait until summer 2015  to plant!!!

Non-GMO seeds, Well packaged, fresh March 15, 2014
Reviewer: Eadie Rowell from Zebulon, NC United States
Great! Arrived as promised in a sealed packet inside a sealed aluminum , plastic lined zip lock envelope with planting instructions. Delivered promptly after placing order. My Patriot Supply has taken the Non GMO seed pledge and is on the online list of safe guaranteed non GMO seed providers. I give all their seeds a thumbs up. Couldn't ask for more. Before I bought I compared several other online seed companies for quantities and prices. My Patriot Supply beat them all hands down! I will never buy my seeds and survival supplies from any other company.

Dead Seeds? October 11, 2013
Reviewer: gary odom from Silsbee, TX United States
Well I thought it was, but it seems it had more to do with my ignorance.  Regardless, MyPatriotSupply sent out a free packet of seed of a different variety better suited to my environment. I didn't even ask for it, they actually suggested it me.  I call that good service after sale.
