Organic Bean: Blue Lake Bush Planting Instructions:

Plant beans in full sun 1 to 2" deep and 2 to 3' apart. It is best to plant the beans in early spring, once the danger of frost has passed and the soil temperature is at least 60°F. For best results, coat the seeds with bean and pea inoculate before planting. Plant in hills spaced 30 to 36" apart. Make sure that you do not plant too early, as overly cool and wet soil may lead the seeds to rot. Once the bush beans start to produce, they come in all at once. Stagger planting by two weeks to keep the crop going longer.

Organic Bean: Blue Lake Bush Harvesting Instructions:

You can harvest Blue Lake Bush beans at any time, but most gardeners wait until the beans begin to firm up and can be snapped. This bean variety is generally as thick as a pencil by the point of harvest. If you wait too long to harvest, the beans can become overgrown and tough, seemingly overnight.

Did You Know This About Blue Lake Green Beans?
Blue Lake Green Beans were originally developed in the early 1900s for canning. They get their name from the Blue Lake area near Ukiah, California, where they originated. By the mid-to-late 1920s, Blue Lake Green Beans had been developed into a string-less bean for use as a green bean.

Thank you so much for the Extraordinary Customer Service! It is extremely rare to find such wonderful service. (I haven't planted my seeds yet, but I expect they'll be the best I've ever purchased of any seeds or plants.) Thank you for the work you have done in obtaining all: meaning excellent employees who care and most likely the best seeds that can be found.

I love how the seeds are received in such airtight containers along with a picture of the product.  Can’t wait to plant them.  Last year they were extremely productive and very tender.

Bean (Bush): Blue Lake Green Bean (2oz, 150 seeds) January 18, 2017

I received my order, complete, and in a very timely manner.  I will be planting some starts indoors in mid-March and will let you know how they do after that time.  I have had disappointments in the past with poor germination rates with other seeds and hope these do much better.  I love gardening and can't wait for planting time!
