Organic Beefsteak Tomato Planting Instructions:
Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting them outside. When starting your plants, place them in a spot that gets plenty of light. Plant seeds 1/8" deep and 30-48" apart. The seeds germinate best between 75-90 F. After seedlings have emerged, the temperature should be 70 F. Only transplant after all danger of frost has passed and nighttime temperatures are reliably above 45 F. Early in the season, use black plastic mulch to keep the soil warm.

For the best flavor, allow the tomatoes to ripen fully on the vine. The tomatoes begin to ripen at the bottom, so watch the bottom of each fruit carefully. Tomatoes may ripen before they reach full color. Pick tomatoes when their skin still looks smooth and waxy, rather than waiting for the color to change all the way to the top of the fruit.
