- Plant in full sun, directly in the soil, after all danger of frost has passed.
- Use well-worked soil that is light and loose for best results. If the soil is too heavy, use compost.
- Plant Danvers 126 Carrot seeds in rows 1 inch apart and cover with a 1/2 inch of soil. Lightly firm the soil and evenly mist with water. Thin the plants to 1 inch apart when the seedlings grow to 3 inches tall.
- Keep the area well-weeded and watered. Carrots need consistent watering during dry seasons.

Before harvesting, soak the bed to make it easier to pull the carrots from the ground.
When harvesting the carrots, twist off the tops while pulling up the roots.
Cut the greens off the top to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the shoulder.
