Surpringly Great Oven and indoor Stove/Space Heater
"I baked bread and corn bread (from our previously purchased 30 day emergency food supply) in the oven the first couple of days after we got the oven. DO use the oven outside for the first go, because the "new toy" smell was more than a bit noxious as the oven cooked and the surfaces heated up. Luckily, that cornbread more than made up for it and it was a nice enough day that we could open all the window and air the place out. The 2nd time I used the oven outdoors and baked the honey wheat bread. Bothe the bread and the cornbread were frikin awesome. There is a really help video on youtube by the inventor of the oven that explains how it works and how and why to measure the wicks of the liquid fuel. If the wicks are too short, the oven takes forever to heat up. If they are too long, the oven will heat REALLY fast and then you have to cap one of the 2 fuel cans. . ask me how I know! it's probably a good ideal to keep a spray bottle with water nearby just in case. On both occaisions, it took the stove 30-35 minutes to reach 350degrees. I wateched another you tube video where the guy was outside and it took his oven over an hour to preheat to 350. . I think - but of course I cant know for sure, that maybe his wicks may not have been the right height? In anyevent, This little oven can cook!!! I LOVE it and my husband was super impressed too! Once it gets a little warmer outside we will try it with biomass and some charcoal. Great investment. I would definitly recommend this product but remember the firts time you try it, do it outside and allow the new metal smell to burn off. BTW, excellent cornbread! and mouth watering honey wheat bread!!! The indoor stove-space heater also works great, and puts off quite a bit of heat. it was fun to watch the fan get started as the stove got hotter. As long as there is one fuel can under the fan in the #1 position (they are marked 1, 2 and 3), you will get hot air blown out by the fan."
