Over 116M Americans across Eastern US targeted by possible tornadoes, flash flooding as severe storms take aim

A multiday severe weather threat is putting more than a dozen states across the Midwest, Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast at risk for damaging storms and flash flooding. FOX Weather says parts of the Midwest face a Level 3 out of 5 severe weather risk, with tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds all possible before the threat shifts east through Wednesday. Repeated rounds of heavy rain could also trigger flash flooding, especially in areas that have already seen flooding over the weekend or where the ground is becoming increasingly saturated.

Why This Matters:
Severe weather can create more than one emergency at once. Damaging winds can knock out power, heavy rain can flood roads, and repeated storms can make conditions worse before communities have time to recover from the last round. For households, it is another reminder to have backup power, safe water, emergency supplies, and a weather plan ready before storms turn into outages, travel disruptions, or flooding.
