The Pacific is already showing new signs of tropical activity as Lala moves on after slamming Hawaii

Tropical Storm Lala is moving away from Hawaii after bringing heavy rain, strong winds, flash flooding, mudslides, and widespread power outages to the islands. Rain from the storm is expected to taper off through Monday, but localized flooding and mudslides remain possible. FOX Weather says Lala is forecast to restrengthen into a hurricane while staying well out to sea, but another disturbance trailing behind it is being watched for possible development near the Central Pacific. Farther east, a separate system off Mexico has a high chance of development and could eventually bring moisture toward Baja California and even the Southwest U.S.

Why This Matters:
Tropical systems can leave problems behind even after the main storm moves away. Flooding, mudslides, power outages, rough surf, and new disturbances can keep communities on alert long after the first round of weather passes. For households, it is a reminder that storm preparedness is not just about one forecast. Emergency supplies, safe water, backup power, and a go-bag should already be in place before tropical weather starts changing quickly.
