Walmart has recalled one lot of Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter after routine testing found Salmonella in three jars purchased at a Florida store. The recalled product was manufactured in Italy, imported by Botticelli Foods, and distributed exclusively to Walmart stores in 19 states. The affected nut butter comes in 6.7-ounce glass jars with lot code LB028ACP04 and an expiration date of January 28, 2027. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall, but customers are being urged not to eat the product and to throw it away or return it for a refund.
Why This Matters:
Food recalls are not limited to meat, dairy, or fresh produce. Pantry items can also become a safety concern, especially when products are distributed across multiple states before contamination is found. For households, it is another reminder that everyday grocery items can become uncertain quickly, and having dependable backup food in place helps reduce reliance on the store when recalls, contamination concerns, or supply disruptions hit.
