The Rise of Real-World Weather Control

Cloud seeding, solar radiation management, ionospheric manipulation…it all sounds like science fiction, but much of it is on paper, filed, and patented.

Between 1890 and 2014, there were more than 200 patents issued for weather modification and geoengineering technologies.

Additionally, on the Google Patents directory (which includes all patents registered, even those that do not meet the necessary requirements), there are over 700 patents in the category for “Devices or methods for influencing weather conditions.”

While the number of officially issued patents since 2014 hasn’t been released, we can assume the number of patents is significantly higher based on the growth of weather modification start-ups and businesses.

For example, cloud seeding (a specific type of weather modification) is a booming business.

According to Fortune Business Insights, “The global cloud seeding market size was valued at USD 375.6 million in 2023 and is projected to grow from USD 406.4 million in 2024 to USD 684.2 million by 2032. […] North America captured the second-largest market share in 2023 due to the presence of major players and increasing government investments.”

Private companies, backed by billionaires, are attempting to play Mother Nature.

But we can’t Frankenstein our way to perfect weather without consequences.

Unlike Frankenstein, weather control isn’t fiction.

Read on to discover just how prevalent weather control is and what you should do to prepare for the consequences.

What Is Cloud Seeding?

Currently, cloud seeding is the most popular form of weather modification.

According to NOAA, “Cloud seeding is the only common weather modification activity currently practiced in the United States—typically by private companies in western mountain basins in winter in order to help generate snow in specific locations, or in the desert southwest to replenish water reservoirs in summer. The method has been used for decades in an effort to increase stored water in snowpack that melts in the spring to maintain adequate water supply.”

These private companies, such as Rainmaker, fly a plane or drone into naturally forming clouds and then release silver iodide and table salt into the clouds.

These added particles pull water vapor out and result in forced precipitation (rain or snow).

This technology has been used in the US since 1945, but many Americans are just now learning about it.

According to the EPA, “As of July 2024, cloud seeding programs were active in nine states: California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. Depending on the state, these programs have either been directly supported by state funds, indirectly by state grants to local agencies, or by local revenue or sponsors.”

Epoch Times reports, “In the state of Texas alone, there are multiple weather modification projects that have been ongoing for decades, covering tens of millions of acres.”

What Is Solar Geoengineering?

Solar geoengineering, also known as solar radiation modification, is designed to cool the Earth by intentionally modifying the amount of sunlight reaching the Earth’s surface.

According to the EPA, “The main difference between weather modification and solar geoengineering is that weather modification is intended to have local, short-term effects, whereas solar geoengineering is intended to have larger regional or global effects that persist.”

In other words, cloud seeding is a type of weather modification because it focuses on a localized area, but something like stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), sending chemicals into the stratosphere, is solar geoengineering.

According to the EPA FAQs page on solar geoengineering, “As of July 2025, EPA is aware of only one private sector actor, Make Sunsets, that has actively deployed SAI or MCB in the United States.”

To give you an idea about how much like the Wild West solar geoengineering start-ups are, here’s one journalist’s recap of meeting the owners of Make Sunsets.

“One morning late last year, an RV pulled into a parking lot on the outskirts of Silicon Valley. Inside it was a blue Ikea bag with huge balloons, and metal tanks full of helium and sulfur dioxide gas. […] Iseman took a wrench and opened the tanks, releasing the sulfur dioxide first and then the helium. He siphoned the gasses into a long tube while his business partner, Andrew Song, stood just outside the RV using the tube to inflate a weather balloon. As the balloon grew to about 6 feet wide, some sulfur dioxide – which can be hazardous to human health in high concentrations—started to leak. […] The three balloons that Make Sunsets launched that day made it to the stratosphere – a layer of the atmosphere about six to 30 miles above Earth's surface. When the balloons popped, the sulfur dioxide gas turned to particles—reflecting enough sunlight, the company says, to offset the warming of 175 gas-powered cars for a year.”

Note – The company has raised more than a million from venture capital firms and does NOT employ any scientists.

Another start-up, Stardust Solutions, has raised $15 million.

It plans to launch reflective particles into the stratosphere via a machine mounted on an aircraft.

Meanwhile, there are very few regulations regarding solar geoengineering.

According to one news report, “In the U.S., the interactions Make Sunsets has with U.S. government agencies are minimal. Before each balloon launch, Iseman calls up the Federal Aviation Administration and alerts them that he'll be launching weather balloons. Iseman also files a yearly report with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) listing all of the company's ‘weather modification activities.’”

What Is Ionospheric Manipulation?

Another form of geoengineering involves modifying the atmosphere using high-frequency radio waves.

This is known as ionospheric manipulation.

The ionosphere and the ionized gas that is part of the manipulation are necessary for radio communication.

According to Science Alert, “By selectively disturbing the charged particles that make up this part of the upper atmosphere, scientists or even governments could theoretically boost or block long-range radio signals.

Guess what? Russia and China are jointly experimenting with ionospheric manipulation.

How Will Weather Control Affect the Food Supply?

Solar geoengineering has the potential to radically affect the weather.

For example, it may weaken the summer monsoon, which will mean less rain.

Less rain will affect crops.

Social geoengineering, such as SAI, could affect the ozone layer and UV.

This will affect crop growth as well.

When crops are affected, so is the food supply.

There’s also the risk of termination shock due to these start-ups stopping or failing.

Suddenly stopping the experiment poses a substantial risk.

Christopher Trisos explains, "You get a whole rush of global warming and climate change in a very short period of time. That would be very dangerous for ecosystems, for biodiversity, in many cases, very dangerous for crops and food supplies as well."

Here’s another angle to consider.

The elite and wealthy are already controlling our farms and trying to force us to eat bugs.

What Are the Dangers of Weather Control?

There are many dangers concerning weather control beyond hurting the global food supply.

So much so that our own government is developing an early warning system that could detect geoengineering in the stratosphere.

It is also an issue of national defense.

In the research paper, Application of Technologies for Influencing the Weather in Contemporary Geopolitical Situation, the authors claim, “Technologies for influencing the weather are currently being actively studied and legally applied in developed countries of the world (for example, in the USA, China, Russia and the United Arab Emirates) for precipitation management. However, the use of such systems for military purposes can pose serious threats not only for countries using such technologies and their neighbors, but also on a global scale, especially since the consequences of using methods of influencing the weather are not well understood in the long term.”

What Regulations Are There for Weather Modification and Geoengineering?

If you think weather control is fiction (or our government tries to pretend it is), then you may want to consider the Weather Modification Act of 1976 (15 Code of Federal Regulations § 908).

According to this Act, any individual or company that intends to perform weather modification activities in the US is required to provide a report to NOAA at least 10 days prior.

Specifically, “the Weather Modification Act declares the following, when conducted as weather modification activities, shall be reported:

  1. Seeding or dispersing of any substance into clouds or fog, to alter drop size distribution, produce ice crystals or coagulation of droplets, alter the development of hail or lightning, or influence in any way the natural development cycle of clouds or their environment;
  2. Using fires or heat sources to influence convective circulation or to evaporate fog;
  3. Modifying the solar radiation exchange of the earth or clouds, through the release of gases, dusts, liquids, or aerosols into the atmosphere;
  4. Modifying the characteristics of land or water surfaces by dusting or treating with powders, liquid sprays, dyes, or other materials;
  5. Releasing electrically charged or radioactive particles, or ions, into the atmosphere;
  6. Applying shock waves, sonic energy sources, or other explosive or acoustic sources to the atmosphere;
  7. Using aircraft propeller downwash, jet wash, or other sources of artificial wind generation;
  8. Using lasers or other sources of electromagnetic radiation; or
  9. Other activities undertaken with the intent to modify the weather or climate, including solar radiation management activities and experiments.

How to Prepare for Frankenstein Weather

Weather control is being downplayed, but as shown above, it does exist.

People are actively applying for patents. Start-ups are seeking funds. Experiments are taking place.

And there are few regulations.

We should not be playing God, but people are trying to.

As a result, the food supply will suffer.
